With thanks to her Grandma, Gloria Olynyk has been writing Ukrainian pysanky eggs since she was 8 years old. Now residing in Sechelt, British Columbia, she continues to pass on the art form through demonstrations, television appearances and teaching classes to all ages. She starts writing just after the new year and works on them till Easter. The following are some of the pysanky that were written by her in the last two or three years and they have all new owners. This gallery will give an idea as to some of the various designs that you can try. The unique style pysanky featuring icons and non traditional designs are her specialty and is still done by the same wax resist method.
